Green Tea Forever

I was almost tempted to title this post as “Drink green tea for god’s sake!!”
If you are not yet familiar with the benefits of green tea this article is for you, and you should really get out from the rock that you live under more often. (just kidding :))
From the start of this year, I have picked up two wonderful habits, blogging and drinking green tea.
Green Tea Benefits. Green Tea Anti-Oxidants

Green tea has numerous health benefits. Its main reason is that it is rich in anti-oxidants, mainly the anti-oxidant “EGCG”. There are naturally occurring particles in the body known as free radicals that are associated with ageing and many diseases. Anti-oxidants slow down the formation of free radicals. Anti-oxidants protect our cells, make our immune system stronger and keep our skin young and healthy in the long run.
Another benefit that green tea is known for is weight loss. Green tea increases body metabolism and thus helps in losing weight. EGCG present in green tea is also known to inhibit the growth of cancer cells. And beat this, the doctor suggested green tea to my brother for hair loss!
There are many types of green tea present in the market. For starters, you can try out the tea bags which are convenient to use. Also there are many flavours available in the market.
Right now I am hooked to Tetley green tea “honey and lemon”. A pack of ten Tetley tea bags costs INR 42. I have tried the other flavours too and like this one the best.
Tetley says: Normal cellular processes as well as environmental factors like pollution, smoking and stress result in the formation of harmful molecules called free radicals in our body. Antioxidants inhibit the harmful effects of free radicals, preventing damage to healthy cells and tissues. Tetley green tea is rich in naturally occurring anti-oxidants a wonderful way to protect you from within!

One great tip for skin:
Don’t just throw your tea bags. Green tea is great for skin if applied directly too. You can use the tea bags to cleanse your face. Just wet the tea bags and gently pat them on your face and neck. You can even keep the tea bags in the fridge/freezer and later use them as eye packs. :)

Bourjois Healthy Mix Liquid Foundation Review

Price : INR950, £9.99 for 30ml (could not find out its price in US.)
Claims-
70% more radiance and flawless complexion for up to 16 hours!
Bourjois' 1st radiance-boosting fruit therapy foundation for a flawless complexion for up to 16hrs!
•Apricot > radiance
•Melon > hydration
•Apple > antioxidant
•Ginger > energy
Its exquisite glide-on formula blends onto the skin for a flawless, yet natural finish.
And.. it's good for my skin:
· 8 hrs moisture
· Lets skin breathe
· Dermatologically tested

Pros
Well all the natural ingredients just sound heavenly. ( And finally a beauty product that contains ginger!! YAY! J) It also claims to moisturise skin. I think this foundation suits all skin types.
Has got a dewy, glow kind of finish.
Has great staying power. And I am talking about extreme conditions. I am an oily and in July the weather in Mumbai gets as humid as possible. It will stay on all day just puff it nicely with loose powder whenever you need to.
Comes in a pump bottle which is made of plastic. So full marks for packaging, it is hygienic and easy to carry around.
Gives medium, natural looking coverage.
There are 8 shades available, though only five in India. Still I don’t mind it that much, because so many companies just launch 3 shades in India.
Before i forget, this has been voted as the product of the year 2011 in UK.
Cons
No SPF!
My Rating : 4.5/5 ( If it had SPF it would really be perfect. )
Paisa Vasool : Totally!
So what foundation are you using currently?
XOXO

5 Awesome beauty/personal care products under INR100 (2$)

Call me crazy but I think shopping in a limited budget is fun in its own way. Here these are five random inexpensive products that I like. Hope you guys find some useful ideas here for economic and guilt free spending.
1.     Lakme Rose Powder
INR 90 for 40g
After spending 750 bucks on powder foundation instead on a loose powder by mistake, I had asked you guys for suggestions. IK from Makeup Monologues( which btw is the most awesome beauty blog) had suggestion lakme or body shop loose powder , guess which one I went with.. the cheaper one. J But I so… love it, it’s a decent loose powder and has got sunscreens too.! And you get a lot of product for 90 Bucks. Lakme Rose powder comes in two shades one for fair complexion and one for wheatish complexion.
2.     Himalaya Pure Hands herbal hand sanitizer
INR 39 for 50ml
I have recently joined the hand sanitizer craze and I think this is a simple but perfect one. Along with ensuring hand hygiene it also moisturises. Plus it has got natural ingredients.

3.     Vaseline healthy white body skin whitening body milk
INR 65 for 100ml
I keep coming back to this moisturiser. I looove its fragnance which also reminds me of my hometown cuz I used to use this back then. It contains yogurt serum, vitamin B3, Triple sunscreen for fairer and healthy looking skin. Now I don’t know about the whitening claim but this is the most awesome and economic moisturiser.
4.     Ponds white beauty daily spotless lightening cream
INR 49 for 15g
This isn’t exactly economic but you can buy this tube as a trial pack. I know a lot of people don’t like this that much but it works for me. It contains pro vitamin B3 and multiple UV protection. If you do like this cream, try to buy the sachets if you can find them, cuz they are wayyy more cheaper than the tube or the jar.
5.     Himalaya Herbals Gentle Refreshing Toner
INR 70 for 100 ml

If you are like me and often wonder how necessary toners really are, why don’t you just by an inexpensive one.  I recently read that you can skip the toner step unless you have oily skin. Oh well I am an oily so I cannot skip this step, so this is a great toner by Himalaya which promises to refresh the skin and keep it oil free. It is also alcohol free. Yay.

Have you used any of these products?
            XOXO
