Saturday Confessions: The Importance of Procrastination

I procrastinate like it’s my job. I will be watching an episode of “Friends” when I should be working on a blog post, and will be Googling trivialities on “Robert Downey Jr” when I should be replying to emails.  I will be Youtubing when I am supposed to be doing the dishes, and will be doing the dishes when I am supposed to be cleaning the apartment, but seldom will I be found doing the thing that I actually should be doing.

“Why such irrational behavior, why?” I ask myself dramatically. And this is funky, I actually come up with a poem to glorify my lazy deeds. Well now that I have written the poem, I might as well share it with you guys. Haina?

Saturday Confessions: Midyear crisis

June. When my New Year resolutions finally take their last breath. When nights slowly and sneakily start taking over days, a little more every day. The “Where the hell did half the year go!” month. The month when I turn another year older (and hopefully wiser.) Amid this midyear crises, I re-evaluate my amusing goals and silly dreams. And I make ridiculous resolutions all over again.

In other news, I wanted to confess about my short-term relation ship with songs. I like a lot of different types of music. Any song that makes me feel good goes into my playlist. Here are the songs that I am currently listening to. But I get over songs like Ted gets over his ex-girlfriends. I am always on the lookout for new music that stirs me. And by new I don’t mean the latest, I mean a song that I am hearing for the first time.

Oh and btw, it's  my birthday today.

Muse: Maybelline Gliter Prata

Maybelline Glitter Prata Review Price

Dazzle on a dull, rainy day with Maybelline Colorama Glitter Prata. I wear this on top of my nail paints, and sometimes only on my ring finger. Like all glitter nail paints, this one is also bit wearisome to remove. So whenever I am tempted to apply multiple coats, I think of the trouble I will go through while taking it off, and end up applying a single coat. If you are looking for a subtle, silver, glitter nail paint, at a very affordable price then go for this one!

Be Monsoon Ready: Makeup and hair tips

Guest Post by Aakriti Kochar, Beauty & Makeup Expert, Oriflame India

Makeup tips

For monsoon, the most significant thing is to opt for matte makeup. Avoiding gloss, sheen or shimmer on the face is recommended. As the makeup settles down, the glow will come on its own. Opt for a matte finish primer that prepares a good base for your foundation and prevents make-up from spoiling.

A matte finish primer and foundation helps maintaining the skin’s complexion and preventing it from oxidizing which is a result of excessive oil secretion on the skin. Use a mattifying powder, preferably a compact to finish the base. This will ensure matte skin for longer! In case your skin produces excess sebum, make sure you carry blotting paper that soaks excess oil without removing the makeup.

DIY: How to remove tan naturally

Monsoons are here (yippee!!,) but who all look roasted because of the reminiscent summer tan? I know I do. My face and my neck have become slightly dissimilar in shade, but the major difference can be seen on my arms, and my feet. I can’t even remember the last time I saw my feet without those horrid chappal tan marks. So I have decided it’s time to whip out some natural remedies for damage control. Here are my three tried and tested natural remedies for removing tan.

Saturday confessions: Of neglected secret diaries

That is the first page of my abandoned secret diary.

When I was leaving Dehradun, I locked all my secret diaries (I had many) in a cupboard and gave the key to my niece, Pinky. I bestowed on her the responsibility of keeping my diaries safe, and that on the event of my untimely death, to burn them (I think I really said that.)

You would think that with the dramatic guidelines that I gave my niece, some deep, dark, Pretty little liar type secrets would be concealed in the pages of my diaries. Eh.. nothing of that sorts. But of course the diaries are interesting to me. With little titbits of my daily life so long ago, about the days when not completing my homework used to give me sleepless nights and 12:30 am was the time I used to wake up till to feel like a rebel.

In my diaries, I found pieces of me that I had not met in a long time. A highly ambitious 10 year old kid. A very much lost 15 year old teenager. And a ridiculously hopeful 17 year adolescent.

Maybelline Color Whispers: 430 Coral Ambition -Review and Swatches

Guest Post by Nika M

Hello beauties.

Today I have another review for you. We are going to talk about Maybelline Color Whispers. The other day I was in my local drugstore and I saw them. They were so cute and I absolutely love the packaging, so I just had to had them. First I ran towards the pink shades and swatched them, but then I decided to pick up the shade 430 Coral Ambition, since I own a LOT of pink shades of lipsticks (my popyticks are also pink :)).

Saturday Confessions and Ramblings

Trying to start a weekly series on a blog is probably not the best idea for a lazy blogger, but I thought it would be a good way to challenge myself to give more time to GingerSnaps. Also, I don't think that I would be able to come up with confessions every week. I mean come on, my life is not that interesting.

Now when we are talking about confessions, that doesn't mean those hardcore "FB confession pages" type confessions (god knows we have enough of those already.) Just some harmless little facts that people don't know about me would do.

So I want to confess.....

Time stops at Matheran

Matheran Echo Point Monkey April
Matheran Echo Point FriendsThe funny thing was, I had not even heard about this place before. Matheran, situated approximately 90 kms from Mumbai and 120 kms from Pune, is the smallest hill station in India. The most remarkable fact about Matheran has to be that motorized vehicles are not allowed here.

DIY: L'Oreal PowerDose/Powercell Repair treatment at home (Review)

LÓreal Powercell repair at home price

While visiting a salon for an haircut, I have been convinced more than once to get hair treatments done that claim to transform your dull damaged hair into looking like a goddess'. Though I have had satisfactory results with these treatments, my wallet doesn't feel the same. It is great to pamper yourself at salons once in a while, but why not do these treatments more often at home at a very, very small fraction of price of what you pay at salons. Think about all the things you can do with the money you save!!

Today I am going to tell you how you can use 'L'Oreal Serie Expert Power Repair B -Powercell Repair with Lactic acid' (which was earlier known as Powerdose treatment) at the comfort of your home while answering some of the general queries that girls have about this treatment.
