Celebrating Earth Day with The Body Shop

Tripti Bisht for GingerSnaps

22nd April 2013, Delhi

I was invited in an event of Bodyshop for celebrating the first Birthday of their Wood Positive Commitment on Earth day. The wood positive commitment is a pledge to preserve more wood then they use in their packaging (i.e. using recycling paper) and avoid all the harsh chemicals in their product which harms the environment.

Wood Positive’ campaign was officially launched in association with The World Land Truston April 22, 2012, in a bid to help restore fragile habitats and regenerate land back to its true form, protecting the environment for the long-term.
I really liked all of their Go Green collection of naturally inspired products. Guests were given the dress code of Green & White, so the surroundings were quite eye soothing & friendly...
Here is the Flash Forward brief of the Event

The event started with a warm welcome & brief on all of their new beauty products range followed by rating the products (1-10) according to the each bloggers opinion. Thereafter we were offered with some green slush (which was refreshing) & few delicious snack items...Yummmm

Then we had small & amusing sessions of Relaxing Hand Massage & Gorgeous Makeover by their Makeup artist which made me look so hot!! ;p ;p  After the Makeover there was a quick photo session with some green props(Say green Hat, Green leaves, Green grass ball & etc…) Event ended up with the go green Pledge.. captured in the below attached pics

THE BODY SHOP SAYS

The Body Shop believe true beauty comes from the heart, for us beauty is much more than a pretty face. It’s about feeling good and doing good too.

We trade fairly so communities benefit as well as you. We never test on animals, and all our products are 100% vegetarian. We campaign with passion on issues close to our heart, because activism is in our blood.
Good numbers of retailers, beauty bloggers, makeup artists and local celebrities joined us on the event.
I was glad to be the part of this positive event & celebrate the Earth Day with such a good cause.
