THE SOFITEL MACAU AT PONTE 16 [REVIEW]

The Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16 is located at the Macau city centre, and is around a drive of 20 minutes from the Macau Airport and the Macau Ferry Terminal. A shuttle bus runs from the Ferry terminal to the hotel but I decided to take a taxi to save time. As soon as I got off my taxi, I was greeted with a warm ‘Bonjour’ by the hotel staff and escorted to the executive floor for check-in. I enjoyed the afternoon tea with the spectacular view of the old Macau and glitzy casinos from the executive lounge, till the formalities of check-in were being processed.

Four Seasons Wines Vineyards, Baramati

If at gunpoint I was ever asked to choose between “having excellent food and wine” or “traveling to incredible places” for a year, and I could only choose one or the other, with a heavy heart I would have to choose the former. I am that kind of a person.

It was a pleasantly cool, breezy night as I sat by the poolside of the Four Seasons Winery in Baramati, sipping on my glass of Sparkling Rosé. I had spent the day with wine specialists and enthusiasts going through the various stages of wine making in the Four Seasons Winery, savouring spectacular wine and food. And as they say, a day spent drinking good wine is a day well spent. (Okay “they” don’t say it, I say it, but who wouldn’t agree with me?)

The 5 things you need to do in Chennai

Tamil Nadu
In the 24 hours that we spent in Chennai, we tried to take in as much of the pulsating city as possible. We reached Chennai in the evening after a daylong journey on the Chennai Express, and we were to board a train to Rameshwaram the very next day. Of course Chennai has innumerable things to do and places to see, but if you were on a time constraint as me and my friends were, this express guide may or may not be helpful to you.

But firstly, let me introduce you to my travel mates. They say “It’s not just about the journey, it’s about the company.” Well then Ramit with his phenomenal (personal joke *wink*) knowledge about food and travel, Nandini with her contagious laughter and the stupendously (another personal joke *wink wink*) poetic Arvind, were the best travel companions I could have asked for.
