The memoirs of "Neutrogena Indiblogger meet"

*The year is 2050*

Grandkids:
We are going for practice of our "Interstate lightsaber tournament" grandma, see you in the evening!

Me:
Hold it right there kiddies! Have you applied sunscreens with adequate protection from UVA and UVB rays?

Grandkids: Umm.. no Grandma, actually it’s already late afternoon. And we would only be gone for an hour..

Me: ch.ch.ch..*shaking my head in disapproval, I continue* How do you think I have got such great skin at this age kiddies? Along with a diet rich in antioxidants, I have used sunblock every day without fail. Now that reminds me Grandkids, have I told you about that awesome "Neutrogena Indiblogger meet"?

Grandkids:
Umm, Granny, as much as we would like to know the secrets of your beautiful skin, we were kind of getting late for the practice..

Me:
Oh…. okay, nevermind,*in a sad little voice with puppy dog eyes, I say* I will just sit here ALONE for a while and do some OLD people stuff. Anyway nobody listens to me these days, it was foolish of me to think that you would want to spend some time with this old women.. Nobody has time to sit and talk with me, not you, not your parents…

Grandkids:
Okay Grandma okay!! We still have some time before the practice… umm please tell us about the meet..

Me:
Oh Lovely!!*This always works on these suckers, haha!* So, the Neutrogena Indiblogger meet had taken place atJW Marriot in Juhu. Wait let me show you some pictures.

That is Anoop saying something funny as always. I have no idea why I am raising my hand with him in this pic.
I did get bummed by the fact that Anoop forgot to make us do "hurrrr-hurrrr" at this meet.

5 Awesome beauty/personal care products under INR100 (2$)

Call me crazy but I think shopping in a limited budget is fun in its own way. Here these are five random inexpensive products that I like. Hope you guys find some useful ideas here for economic and guilt free spending.
1.     Lakme Rose Powder
INR 90 for 40g
After spending 750 bucks on powder foundation instead on a loose powder by mistake, I had asked you guys for suggestions. IK from Makeup Monologues( which btw is the most awesome beauty blog) had suggestion lakme or body shop loose powder , guess which one I went with.. the cheaper one. J But I so… love it, it’s a decent loose powder and has got sunscreens too.! And you get a lot of product for 90 Bucks. Lakme Rose powder comes in two shades one for fair complexion and one for wheatish complexion.
2.     Himalaya Pure Hands herbal hand sanitizer
INR 39 for 50ml
I have recently joined the hand sanitizer craze and I think this is a simple but perfect one. Along with ensuring hand hygiene it also moisturises. Plus it has got natural ingredients.

3.     Vaseline healthy white body skin whitening body milk
INR 65 for 100ml
I keep coming back to this moisturiser. I looove its fragnance which also reminds me of my hometown cuz I used to use this back then. It contains yogurt serum, vitamin B3, Triple sunscreen for fairer and healthy looking skin. Now I don’t know about the whitening claim but this is the most awesome and economic moisturiser.
4.     Ponds white beauty daily spotless lightening cream
INR 49 for 15g
This isn’t exactly economic but you can buy this tube as a trial pack. I know a lot of people don’t like this that much but it works for me. It contains pro vitamin B3 and multiple UV protection. If you do like this cream, try to buy the sachets if you can find them, cuz they are wayyy more cheaper than the tube or the jar.
5.     Himalaya Herbals Gentle Refreshing Toner
INR 70 for 100 ml

If you are like me and often wonder how necessary toners really are, why don’t you just by an inexpensive one.  I recently read that you can skip the toner step unless you have oily skin. Oh well I am an oily so I cannot skip this step, so this is a great toner by Himalaya which promises to refresh the skin and keep it oil free. It is also alcohol free. Yay.

Have you used any of these products?
            XOXO

In pursuit of the perfect sunscreen + Product Information

Exposure to sun is one of the major factors of skin ageing. Some researchers claim that up to 80 % skin aging is caused by harmful UV rays, and that is mind boggling. The dangers of harmful UV rays range from dark spots, freckles & wrinkles to even skin cancer. It is very important to protect our skin from the sun on day to day basis. Today I am going to tell you guys about some of the sunscreens available in the market, hoping to help you pick the right one for you.
Why do I have so many sunscreens you ask, well I am allergic to most of them. Two of them are almost finished and I had kept the bottles foe this post. :) . If you have often graced my blog with your presence, you must be knowing that I am allergic to SPF more than 15, still sometimes I become adventurous ad end up buying higher SPF sunscreens. The Body Shop Moisture White Shiso Range ( Product Information)

My sister got these two products from the TBS Shiso Japanese formula series. I am not reviewing these products cuz they belong to my sis, but I have used the serum a couple of times and liked it. As for the UV protection cream I have already told you that SPF> 15 irritates my skin. I’ll give this a try later  though.

From the site:
Shiso extract is combined with Vitamin C, liquorice and Community Trade organic aloe, a blend of ingredients providing the Moisture White™ range with the efficiency to address hyperpigmentation. Vitamin C is included as it provides antioxidant protection, helping to reduce melanin production. Liquorice extract from the root of the Glycyrrhiza Glabra plant is chosen by The Body Shop for the Moisture White™ collection as it helps address hyperpigmentation.

White Shiso Whitening Serum
Price: INR1995 for 30ml
Daily luminous hydration infused with shiso, vitamin C, liquorice and community trade aloe vera. Apply morning and evening before moisturizing.

Moisture White UV Protection Cream
Price : Between INR 2000 to 2500 for 30 ml ( don’t remember the exact price)
SPF 20 PA+++
Daily UVA/B protection. Softens Skin and helps prevent uneven skin pigmentation. With Vitamin C and liquorice extract.
For all skin types.
An easily absorbed, oil free cream that helps protect skin against harmful UVA and UVB rays and the formation of dark spots and discolouration. Use daily after whitening serum
You know how body shop is, they have launched tons of products in this range. Like cleansing powder, eye cream, foundation, treatment mask, cleansing oil. *sighs* Okay nevamind, as I was saying my sister liked these products a lot, but still I think they are crazy expensive. I think I’ll stick to fair and lovely when I am in need of fairness. ;)
It’s a great range, do give it a try if u want to.
So have you used any whitening products, what are ur favs?
(Only the first picture belongs to me, rest have beentaken from the site.)
