On my list of the things that can turn around a bad day (or even week) for me, the top three would be: A conversation over dinner with my best friends. A pyjama party which involves extra cheese pizza and re-watching my favourite comedy sitcoms (because a ‘Friends’ episode is funny even if it is being watched for the 17th time). A pampering and revitalizing body massage session. So when in the midst of a mother of all stressful weeks kind of week, I was  invited for an experiential at the Spa La Vie L’occitane, I more than happily said yes.

This 8,000 sqft Mediterranean Wellness Sanctuary is situated in Apollo Mills, Lower Parel and boasts to be one of Mumbai’s largest Day Spas, featuring one of Mumbai’s only Hammams. On stepping into the Spa’s tranquil premises, I was greeted by smiling faces and almost immediately offered bamboo slippers that I could change into. After being served a detoxifying concoction of basil, honey and ginger, I had a brief session with the Spa manager where he asked me my preferences and other necessary questions which would help my experience at the spa be more pleasant and personalized.

I opted for a relaxing Aromacologie massage and had a blissful 60 minute session where Swedish effleurage strokes, Chinese acupressure, Balinese massage techniques were brought together to stimulate circulations and ease tensions. This indulging session indeed made me experience Spa la Vie by L'Occitane’s motto L'Art de Vivre, the French art of slowing down and savoring each sensuous, fabulous moment.

Whether you like to indulge in Spa therapies once in a while or regularly, the Spa la Vie menu consists of a variety of facials, massages, body wrap and scrub treatments, to cater to your cossetting needs. And if you are someone who takes pampering and luxury seriously, you might want to have a look at their VIP couple’s suites, intimate area for spa soirées and annual membership prices!
