SOMETHING FISHY

I often have these peculiar cravings that can only be fulfilled by delectable pomfret curry or perfectly done, scrumptious clams. Luckily in Mumbai, I have plenty of good restaurants to visit when I am in the mood for a sea food menu. Here are a few sea food restaurants in Mumbai that I plan to plummet on my coastal cuisine escapades in the near future.

Pebbles
Stir Fried Chilly Squid to Clams Chilly and Coriander, Pebbles serves an impressive selection of sea food. Located right opposite Infinity Mall in Andheri West, it is a restaurant that is quite near my province and a likely choice when I feel like having coastal cuisine. I will highly recommend you to try out their buffets (around INR 800 on weekdays and around INR 1050 on weekends,) which I consider to be good value for money for the selection they offer. They also have an outlet in Juhu, (which I have never visited.)

Pratap Lunch Home
Found in 1961, Pratap Lunch Home claims to be the first original Mangalorean Restaurant for sea food cuisine in Mumbai. This heaven for sea food lovers is situated in Janmabhoomi Marg, Fort, and is renowned for serving amazing sea food at a very reasonable price. Pratap Lunch Home is also known for its specialized dishes which include Haryali Crab Meat, Tandoori Crab, Gassi Crab, Fish Tawa Fry, King Prawns Gassi, Pomfret Butter Pepper and Prawns Chilly Roast. Oh and they served chilled beer at a pocket-friendly price too!

Goa Portuguesa Resturant
The Goa Portuguesa Restobar is three times winner of the “Best Restaurant Award” by the Times Food Guide (TOI Group) and would you believe it, I have still not visited this place! The Goa Portuguesa has three outlets in Mumbai, in Andheri, Mahim and Thane. I have heard highly of the Bombay Duck Stuffed with Crab Meat and King Prawns from this restaurant, and I plan to visit the Andheri outlet soon to try these dishes out myself.

Feel free to tell me about your favourite restaurants where you enjoy coastal delicacies, as my search to find that perfect Manglorian Fish Curry is not over yet.

  2. How delicious! I love seafood in all ways and a salad is such a great way for fresh seafood! A limey spicy dressing is perfect too!
